Every Guitarist needs to tune their guitar, and why not with ease?
This gadget tunes, winds up your strings, and keeps an eye on the quality of your strings.
You basically put this on your guitar tuning peg, strum the string and the Roadie
does all the rest, and tunes within seconds. You can also use alternate tunings using their app.
The tuning is super accurate. If you're in a noisy place, you can connect directly using the jack to tune.
The Roadie can also tune 7-12 strings, banjos, ukuleles, and more. It also has the capability to let you know if your strings are old and need to be replaced.
Using the mobile app, you can customize your tunings to fit your needs. You can also recharge the Roadie using a USB.
The only downside would be that you can't use this on wooden tuning pegs, or a bass guitar (even though they now have aBass Roadie Tuner).
2. Jamstik+ Black Portable App Enabled MIDI Electric Guitar
Jamstik+ uses Bluetooth (Wireless) to connect to your phone, tablet, or computer to use MIDI apps, tutorials, guitar lessons, and games.
The 4 Free Apps included are:
Jamstick+ App - General play
JamTutor 1&2 - Guitar Playing Lessons
JamMix - Play along with loops
FourChords - Learn to play popular songs
It also uses real strings to play, and the guitar lesson apps make it one of the easiest and best ways to learn guitar. The guitar lessons go through it all with step-by-step lessons.
You don't need to tune it as it has a finger sensor fretboard. Also, the sensors will display where your fingers are automatically to help you with your playing instantly.
The size of this is compact which makes it very portable and easy to pack anywhere.
It's MIDI controller capabilities allow to play drums, piano, synths, etc.
The BeatBuddy
is the first pedal drum machine. What's great about having it as a pedal is that you can play guitar WHILE playing the drum machine at the same time.
There are 200+ songs already included in 24 genres with 10 real sounding drum sets. You can also download and store 3.2 million songs and 300 drum sets.
With the visual metronome, it makes it easier to play new time signatures.
BeatBuddy live sampled drummers to make beats. The drums actually sound like a real drumset rather than a drum machine.
Using the footswitch, you can alternate between a verse beat and a chorus beat very easily by holding it down for a measure. You can also add fills just by tapping the footswitch. All fills and changes will be in time.
You can also record directly from the pedal to add great sounding drums to your recording.
Also if you want to the pedal at your live concert, you can save your beats using the free software and use them at any given time.
This Wireless Guitar Cable system is awesome. It's very small - you don't have to strap a box to yourself to use. Just plug it in and play. It's also shaped in a way where it works with the shape of your guitar so you are not hitting it with your hand while playing.
The other connector is the exact same plug - no huge wireless guitar connector box sitting on your amp. Just plug the other connector into your amp or 1st guitar pedal and you're good-to-go.
With more than 70 feet range, you can walk, run, and play almost anywhere.
It also has 4 channels to use so you can essentially use 4 of these on different instruments as well.
The latency on these are really low (<6ms) as well, so you're not going to have a delayed sound.
The un-interfered guitar sounds just as good as if you plugged a cable into your amp/pedalboard instead.
Only thing is - these are battery powered. The batteries do last 5 hours so that is more than enough time for a set, but you just have to remember to recharge the battery.
The Guitar Triller
is pretty unique. You can create alot of sounds with these.
The Guitar Triller is not only made for guitar but for many other instruments like bass guitar, cello, banjo, violin, etc.
Watching the video, you can see only a few of the great sounds that you can come up with using this.
I really like the 'hammer jammer-ish' sound you can create. The Hammer Jammer has a clean sound, but nothing really beats handheld.
Also, one might say 'But you can use anything around the house' - which is true, but this was specifically designed for use on strings. Also, the price for these are extremely affordable so why not?
The Portable Pocket Guitar
is a quick and easy way to practice your guitar finger playing. These are super-lightweight so you can carry one of these easily anywhere you go.
Compared to the Jamstick+, even though there are strings on this, the pocket guitar does not make sounds - it's merely to work on your finger work and guitar playing speed so when you jump back on to your real guitar, you will have potentially been able to work out the 'kinks' before actually playing.
Don't expect the world in this product. However, the price for these is pretty low.
Being a semi-seasoned guitar player, I would use one of these any day compared to a fidget toy as this is a cool tool to meddle around with.
This is an amazing on-the-go recording studio. The iZotope SP111
connects directly to the downloadable Spire app on your iPhone in order to record as much as you want whenever you want. All you have to do is plug in your instrument and start recording.
Typically before this, when a musician has a song idea come to them, they would have to be by a computer, boot it up, pull up their recording program, open a new file, add a new track, select the input, plugin and play to track a take to save their ideas - with this gadget, it's almost instant control from idea straight to tracking.
The sound quality on these is top notch as well. It has preamps built in along with a studio quality mic. It also features reverbs and delays as well to add effects to your tracks easily.
You could track on top of other instruments for a multi-instrument recording.
Typically artists would use something like this to flesh ideas out and figure out new ideas to add to their songs, but with the quality and ease of the spire studio, I don't see why you couldn't record an album off this and immediately put it up online.
The only drawback would be that it looks like the Spire app is only downloadable on an Apple product (iOS, iPad, iPhone) *Sorry Android Users*
10. Livid Instruments Guitar Wing Wireless Control for Guitar
The Guitar Wing is a MIDI controller that you attach to your guitar.
It is very easy to put on and take off in a matter of seconds. You do have to complete initial setups on the Guitar Wing to custom fit your guitar, but again pretty easy.
Using the Guitar Wing, you can manipulate your guitar sounds to add to your unique style, or setup MIDI controls to trigger computer pedals, play/stop/record buttons, etc. - you name it.
Not only does it have MIDI buttons, but it also has sensitive pads, faders, motion control, and more to add more control and variety when playing live.
The Guitar Wing also comes with Wing Effects software that has its own set of guitar effects and the software allows you to easily setup controls for the Guitar Wing to use.
The Guitar makes your guitar sound just like a banjo with that signature banjo twang sound.
It is completely adjustable so you can configure to get your preferred 'twanginess'.
It is easy to mount and removable so you don't have to worry about it being permanently mounted to your guitar.
It also has a swivel so you can easily interchange if playing live.
Pretty unique, but super excited to try it out. Check out the video above to see, hear, and learn more about this awesome new guitar gadget.
